Definitely my favorite Scirocco I've ever had. She was another silver '83 with the 1.8. I bought her from Hebert's junkyard for $350 because she had no rust, no dents, and an engine that supposedly ran perfectly. She was missing her interior, so I put in Betsy's black leather. She also got Betsy's wheels, exhaust (no cat, stock pipe into a cherry bomb), and various other little things. She had just over 100K on her, and yep, she ran perfectly. Much better than Betsy had. She also had the 2H close ratio, which helped her to feel quicker. I remember the first ride I ever took in her after getting her together. (She had been somewhat torn apart in the junkyard). I had just one seat in her, but she felt FAST. And she was - fastest VW I've ever had. Probably just because I've never had another VW that ran right and had a close-ratio, but hey.... someday my GTi will fit that description. I traded her away for $500 and my GTi, which wasn't running and had all kinds of things wrong with it. That was one of the stupider things I've ever done. If I hadn't done it, then she would be the one wearing all the performance parts that my GTi now has. Ah well....
